Start planning freeSee your whole trip at once
Every day is laid out side by side on screen. Drag stops between days to reorganize, reorder within a day, or collapse days you've already sorted out.
Add any place in seconds
Search by name, paste a Google Maps link, or drop a pin on the map. Each stop gets its own entry with visit time, entrance fee, category, rating, and notes.
Hotels — all your booking info in one place
Add your hotel with check-in and check-out dates, price per night, and a link to your booking confirmation. Nights calculate automatically.
Flights, trains, buses, ferries, taxis
Log every leg of the journey — intercity transport and local connections alike. Each type has the right fields: flight number, train seat, ferry cabin, taxi service, price.
Budget that adds up on its own
Every hotel, flight, and activity you add goes into the budget automatically. See what you've spent per day and how it breaks down — accommodation, transport, food, entertainment, and more.
Map that draws your route for you
Every stop and transfer appears on an interactive map as you plan. Flights and trains show as arcs between cities; drives and buses follow real roads. Switch to a single day to check if the route makes geographic sense.
Notes and important documents
Write notes for any day — packing reminders, visa requirements, local tips. Attach files too: booking PDFs, insurance, entry documents. Notes can be kept private or shared with companions.
Plan together with travel companions
Invite anyone by email. They join the trip and can add places, hotels, transport, and notes alongside you — everyone works on the same plan in real time.
Share privately or publish for others to discover
Send a private link to friends — no sign-up needed to view. Or publish your itinerary so other travelers can find, save, and copy it. You decide what the copy includes.
Reuse a trip as a starting point
Duplicate any of your trips, pick a new start date, and all the days shift automatically. Good for annual trips, returning to the same region, or building a new route from one you already know.
Works on your phone too
On mobile the planner becomes a vertical day-by-day timeline. Swipe between days, add stops on the go, and open a fullscreen map whenever you need to check the route.
Create your trip
Enter a title and travel dates. Or skip the blank form entirely — paste any itinerary text (from ChatGPT, a travel blog, a notes app) or upload a file, and AI structures it into days with places, transport, and hotels already filled in.
Fill in the days
Add places to visit, hotels, and transport for each day. Upload booking PDFs and AI fills in flights and hotel details for you. Drag stops between days until the order feels right.
Track spend and add notes
Every hotel, flight, and activity you log goes into the budget. Add notes to days — tips, reminders, things to check before you go.
Share it
Send a private link to travel companions. Invite them to edit the plan together. When the trip is ready, publish it — or export to PDF, Google Maps, or your GPS device.
Is TripSet free?
Yes, completely free. Create an account, plan as many trips as you want, invite friends, export files, and publish your itinerary — no payment required.
What is a good free online trip planner?
TripSet is a free web-based trip planner built around a day-by-day layout — the way most people actually think about travel. It combines an interactive map, automatic budget tracking, AI booking import, and group collaboration in one place. No app download needed, works in any browser.
How is this different from a spreadsheet or Google Docs?
A spreadsheet is just a table — you have to build the structure yourself and there's no map, no budget tracking, and no way to share a clean view with someone. TripSet gives you a ready-made day-by-day layout, a live map that updates as you add stops, and a budget that adds itself up. When the trip is done you can export it to Google Maps or a PDF in one click.
I already have a rough plan from ChatGPT or a travel blog. Can I use it?
Yes. Paste the text when creating a trip and AI will turn it into days with places, transport, and hotels already filled in. You review it before anything is saved, so you can adjust what was misread.
Can I import my flight and hotel booking confirmations?
Yes. Upload a PDF booking confirmation for a flight, train, bus, ferry, or taxi — AI reads it and fills in the departure time, arrival, seat, carrier, and price automatically. For hotels from Booking.com, Trip.com, or Agoda, paste the confirmation link.
Can my travel companions edit the plan too?
Yes. Invite anyone by email and they can add and change places, hotels, flights, and notes in the same itinerary. Great for group trips where everyone has different parts of the plan.
How does the budget work — do I have to enter everything manually?
No. Every hotel, flight, and activity you add goes into the budget on its own. You can also log individual expenses (meals, tickets, fuel) and they're grouped by category automatically. The total and per-day breakdown update as you plan.
Can I see all my stops on a map while planning?
Yes. Every place, hotel, and transport stop appears on the map as you add it. You can filter by day to check whether a single day's route makes geographic sense — useful for spotting when you've planned too much backtracking.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. On mobile the planner switches to a day-by-day timeline view. You can add stops, check the map, and track the budget — everything works on a phone, not just on a computer.
Can I share the itinerary with someone who isn't on TripSet?
Yes. Generate a private link and send it — the person opens a read-only view of your trip without needing an account. If you want other travelers to find and copy your route, you can publish it publicly as a separate step.
We go to the same place every year. Can I reuse the plan?
Yes. Duplicate any trip, pick a new start date, and all the days shift forward automatically. Everything stays — places, hotels, transport, notes. Just adjust what's changed.
