Photo selection
All itinerary photos are included by default. Deselect individual photos before generating to exclude them from the slideshow.
How do I make a travel photo slideshow video?
Open your itinerary in TripSet, go to the Photo Reel page. TripSet loads all photos from your itinerary automatically — deselect any you want to exclude, choose aspect ratio and color grade, then click Generate. The video renders in your browser — no upload required.
Can I export a 9:16 vertical video for Instagram Reels or TikTok?
Yes. Select the 9:16 aspect ratio to get a 1080×1920 vertical MP4 — the standard format for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. For a square post, choose 1:1 (1080×1080).
What color grades are available?
TripSet includes five LUT presets applied via WebGL: Cinematic (high contrast, muted tones), Golden Hour (warm orange tint), Cool Blue (travel documentary feel), Black & White, and Natural (no grade). The grade is applied uniformly across all photos in the slideshow.
What is the Ken Burns effect?
Ken Burns is a subtle zoom-in or pan motion applied to each still photo to make it feel dynamic rather than static. You can enable or disable it in the settings panel before generating.
Why does the Photo Reel only work in Chrome and Edge?
The video is encoded using the WebCodecs API, which allows H.264 encoding directly in the browser without sending data to a server. Firefox and Safari do not support WebCodecs yet, so the feature is limited to Chrome and Edge.
How is Photo Reel different from the animated route video?
Photo Reel creates a slideshow from the photos you attached to your itinerary — it's about your memories and images. The animated route video generates a map animation showing your route moving between stops — it's about the geography of your trip. Both export as MP4.
Is there a limit on how many photos I can include?
No hard limit — all photos attached to the itinerary are included. Render time scales with the number of photos and your device GPU. For very large collections (50+ photos), use the "single day" scope to split into shorter clips.
Is the Photo Reel feature free?
Yes. Photo Reel is free in TripSet — no subscription required. Sign up at app.tripset.io, open any itinerary with photos attached, and go to the Photo Reel page.
Can I make a slideshow from just one day of the trip?
Yes. In the settings, switch from "Full itinerary" to a specific day. Only the photos from that day will be included in the slideshow.
